10 Delicious & Healthy Halloween Treats

Halloween is a super fun holiday for kids and adults alike. It’s one of the only reasons to dress up every year as your dream character. When else can you be a superhero, mermaid, or tiger for a day? With these fun costumes and epic yard decorations…also come loads of unhealthy, sweet, and high-fat candy & snacks. While these are delicious, you don’t want to let your little one indulge too much. Nonetheless, the task of finding healthy Halloween treats can be daunting.

Trick-or-Treating Tips:

Here are some tips to try for trick-or-treating when you want your child to eat healthy Halloween snacks only.

  • Enforce a no-eating rule while trick-or-treating so that you can inspect the Halloween treats for safety and food allergens.
  • Only trick-or-treat at friends and family homes. This way you can make healthy goodie bags and deliver them before taking your child to trick-or-treat. They’ll get the goodies that you want them to have.
  • If your child is young…allow them to trick-or-treat. When you get home, tell them you have to check the treats first. Dump them out and replace them with your healthy Halloween treats before giving their treat bucket back. If you don’t want to waste the treats, you can eat them or gift them to those who like regular candy.
  • If you are adamant about your child not eating regular candy, skip trick-or-treating altogether and host a Halloween party with only healthy Halloween treats. Perhaps you can share the hosting duty with another health-conscious mom.
