Toys Are Great for Development

Your newborn is growing rapidly and now you’re wondering what are the best toys for your 3 month old. Playtime is so important to infant development. At three months old your baby will hit some major milestones. According to Healthy Children,  your baby will start bringing their hands to their mouth, which is a great time for introducing teethers. They may also start grasping toys, shaking toys, and opening/closing their hands.  So this is a great time to help their development with some fun, lightweight and safe toys.

Here are some of the best baby toys for 3 months old babies to do that:

Manhattan Toy Winkel Rattle & Sensory Toy

Manhattan toys is a dependable brand that has been around since 1978. This colorful toy is great for your baby’s development. It’s made of BPA-free teething tubes and has an interesting little rattle to get baby’s attention. This was my son’s favorite toy for months! It’s so easy to hold and grab. The bright colors and little rattle caught his attention easily.

SSK Soft Wrist Rattle and Foot Finder

This four piece set includes two wrist rattles and two foot finders. These are great early, when your baby is not yet able to hold or find toys on their own. They are colorful, cute and easy to clean.

Infantino Spiral Activity Toy

This toy is soft and colorful. It easily attaches to infant car seats, strollers and cribs. It includes textured fabric, satin ribbons, rattle and crinkle toy for sensory development. This toy is BPA free and great on the go.

Bright Stars Playful Pals Take-Along Toy

This take-along toy is easy to clip and unclip to strollers and carriers. It’s soft and includes a rattle, clacker, mirror and tags. This one you can keep as your baby grows because it gives them something to occupy their attention on the go. It’s also inexpensive so you can buy multiple if you don’t want to unclip and move them.

Nuby Squeeze N’ Squeak Plush Toy

This bright colored plush is made of polyester and cotton. It squeaks when your baby squeezes it and it has several teething surfaces. It is also BPA free.

Nuby Ice Gel Teether Keys

This one was another favorite of my son. He enjoyed tossing this around. Although, very seldom did he use it as a teether. It’s a BPA-free multi-surface teether.

Chicco Pocket Buddies Pacifier Holder- Lovey

This soft pacifier holder by Chicco is great for babies to cuddle and locate their pacifier. The neat part about this lovey is it has a pocket to store the pacifier.

The First Years First Rattle

This rattle is soft and a great first rattle to shake and throw. It helps work on grasping skills. The bright colors and different textures help babies to begin visually tracking.

Fisher Price Perfect Sense Deluxe Gym

This extra large gym engages all five baby’s senses. It has six removable toys, including scented cloud, leaf teether, plush sloth, crinkly milestone panel, discovery mirror and light-up musical otter. The mat is machine washable and requires 2 AA batteries to play music.

Fisher Price Deluxe kick m’ Play Piano Gym

Fisher price does it again with this popular 4-ways to play baby gym. This baby gym grows with your baby and allows for many months of developmental play. My daughter loved the piano gym. She would kick it so hard that I would regularly have to re-attach it. It also made tummy time easier. She liked to look at the lights flashing.

Another object she was attached to was her book with black and white pictures in it. LiLi is 14 months now and still goes through it!

That’s great. I’m sure she’s learning a lot from all those things.

This is a great list for babies 3 months old – that is a hard age to find good toys, and also an age where they seem to get bored pretty quick. Thanks for sharing!
