The Best Toddler Christmas Movies & Shows

Christmas…literally is the most wonderful time of the year. At least it is for me! I am a sucker for all things Christmas. Give me the snow, the decorations, a mug of hot chocolate, and a sentimental Christmas movie. Many families enjoy the tradition of Christmas movies during the holiday season.

Now that I’m a mom, I love sharing the joy of Christmas with my son. If your toddler is starting to watch TV programs and you want to include him or her in the Christmas movie-watching tradition, this list is a good place to start. Here are some age-friendly toddler Christmas shows and movies.

Toddler Christmas Movies – The Classic Christmas Movies

These movies never go out of style and both kids and adults love them. My son’s favorite is the Year Without a Santa Claus. This was my favorite Christmas movie growing up as well. Who can forget hit songs like Snow Miser, Heat Miser and Blue Christmas?

Who can forget the classic tale of the Grinch? Angry at all in Whoville who have the Christmas spirit the Grinch steals all their presents and decorations sure that that is all they care about. But when he does…he realizes that the Christmas spirit wasn’t in all the gifts and decorations. Taking it all wouldn’t stop Christmas.

 

 

Toddler Christmas Shows  – Animated Short Programs

While toddler Christmas shows are not as long as Christmas movies, they’re still a great way to entertain your little one for the holidays. These shows are a great way to spend Christmas movie time, without sitting through a full-length toddler movie!

 

7. Charlie Brown Christmas

Although it’s the holiday season Charlie Brown isn’t feeling so joyful. To get in the holiday spirit he take Lucy’s advice to direct the Christmas play. This classic program is a short and sweet way to bring the joy of Christmas.

 

 

8. PBS Kids Christmas Collection

This Christmas collection can last the entire holiday season. With over 3 hours of toddler Christmas shows it offers great variety. It includes Christmas programs like Calliou, Wild Kratts, Peg + Cat, World World Building Readers and Ready Jet Go.

Toddler Christmas Movies – Animated Christmas Movies

These animated toddler Christmas movies are full-length movies to enjoy with your child. They will love them as they’re full of vibrant colors, well-known characters, and cheerful Christmas music.

A favorite of my sons…and at this point I know most of the songs as well. This is a Disney Jr  movie, but enjoyable if you like animation. It also has a good moral to the story about the importance of Christmas.

15. Arthur Christmas (2011)

This is a movie that gets played yearly in my home. Santa has an army of elves to help deliver the billions of presents in just one night. This time one child was missed and there bike wasn’t delivered. Arthur, one of Santa’s sons is determine that it must be delivered or it would crush the child and hurt the magic of Christmas.

Another take on How the Grinch Stole Christmas. There are new characters and new vibrant scenes, characters and designs kids will love.

20. Miracle on 34th Street

Sentimental movie about proving the man claiming to be Santa Claus is the real deal. This movie has been remade a few times, I grew up watching the 1994 version.

Ever fear leaving your kid home? This is the ultimate movie about Kevin McCallister who accidentally gets left behind while family rushes off for Christmas vacation.

 

22. The Santa Claus 1, 2 & 3

When an unexpecting  man, Scott Calvin has  to  take  Santa’s  spot,  his  life  is  turned  upside  down. But  it’s  in  the  best  way  possible!

If you are a Netflix Subscriber, they have some shows that you may want to watch with your little one this holiday season.
